Through the fire God healed my heart. Through the scars I healed my life. Hello there! My name is Istasia Henderson and I am a burn survivor. I survived an accident that left me with 2nd degree burn scars on 60% of my body. Today I help other tragedy survivors heal and live their lives to the fullest.
I am the author of "I'm Not My Scars" and founder of The Beaute For Ashes Foundation.
At The Beaute For Ashes Foundation our mission is to
empower women who have experienced emotional, physical, and mental trauma by providing mentorship and counseling. As a burn survivor myself, I understand the challenges of healing from trauma. We aim to teach women how to get back up after experiencing difficult times and to embark on a journey towards personal growth.

We help women understand their purpose by tapping into who they were created to be. The trauma that we've endured does not define who we are created to be.

We mobilize our teams of volunteers and utilize our resources in order to raise awareness of women who overcame trauma and are working towards bettering themselves.
